The desire for greater automation is here to stay in many organizations. It doesn't matter whether a single server or the entire infrastructure, on-premises or the cloud needs to be automated: Ansible can automate and simplify the installation, configuration and maintenance of systems. In addition to the ability to speed up administrative tasks, tasks can also be implemented in a reusable manner. Not only does Ansible create new opportunities for administrators, but application developers also benefit significantly from such a platform. In the first course of this package, you will learn the basics of using Ansible. In addition to imparting theoretical knowledge, all ideas are also put into practice. Using Ansible playbooks, you will create scripts for complex tasks and then build them in a modular way using the role concept.

In the second part, the complex possibilities of Ansible will be explained and tried out. In addition to complex Jinja2 templates, application landscapes and network components will be orchestrated. It is important that topics such as lookups, error handling and Ansible Vault are also discussed. This training uses real-world examples to teach the best practices and approaches for developing complex Ansible roles and Jinja2 templates. In addition to imparting theoretical knowledge, all ideas will also be put into practice.

Target Group

The courses are aimed at anyone who is looking for an introduction to Ansible or automation, has a certain level of technical understanding and is not afraid of innovation. The course provides server administrators, platform architects and pre-sales employees working in the automation environment with a solid foundation of know-how and an insight into the possibilities of Ansible.

Knowledge Prerequisites

Willingness to deal technically with the topics of automation and Ansible and a basic understanding of the data center building blocks compute, network and storage are prerequisites for successful course participation. Linux knowledge is desirable, but not mandatory.

Classroom training

Hybrid training

Hybrid training means that online participants can additionally attend a classroom course. The dynamics of a real seminar are maintained, and the online participants are able to benefit from that. Online participants of a hybrid course use a collaboration platform, such as WebEx Training Center or Saba Meeting. To do this, a PC with browser and Internet access is required, as well as a headset and ideally a Web cam. In the seminar room, we use specially developed and customized audio- and video-technologies. This makes sure that the communication between all persons involved works in a convenient and fault-free way.
