The VMware Certified Technical Associate (VCTA) is a technical certification for beginners that concludes with an exam. Various e-learning courses, which are included in the Enterprise Learning Subscription, are recommended for preparation depending on the subject area. The VCTA is recommended, but is not a prerequisite for further certifications.
The VMware Certified Professional (VCP) requires a professional exam, which varies depending on the subject area. Practical experience with the solution is recommended in advance. For VMware newcomers, the course “VMware vSphere: Install, Configure, Manage” as a basis.
The written exams are taken at a Pearson VUE Authorized Center.
VMware certifications do not have a mandatory recertification requirement.
