Container platforms like Docker can be found in many enterprises. Here, it is important to have a container platform that allows both administrators and users of these platforms to be able to scale their applications and provide an efficient solution to manage the container landscape. This is where products like Kubernetes come in. During the first part of the course, we will build a Kubernetes platform and discuss the technical capabilities of the platform. It will provide a deep dive into the installation, configuration, and basic operation of Kubernetes.

Despite having a basic understanding and initial successful deployment of Kubernetes, many teams encounter challenges when trying to optimize and extend their infrastructures. The second part of the course not only deepens knowledge of the tool, but also highlights advanced aspects such as fine-grained resource management, security provisions, and cluster management.

With distributed systems like those managed by Kubernetes, complex configurations and dependencies can arise. This course offers you the opportunity to master these complexities and run Kubernetes more efficiently and securely. You will learn how to implement advanced network policies or ingress rules, manage traffic efficiently, and run stateful applications in a Kubernetes environment. You will also deepen your knowledge on security aspects, such as managing secrets or RBAC (Role-Based Access Control)

 

In the second part of the course, you will get the tools to elevate your Kubernetes clusters to a higher level of efficiency, security and stability.

Knowledge Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of Linux and basic networking and IT skills are assumed. In addition, participants should have the knowledge taught in the Docker Fundamentals - Getting Started with Docker course

Hybrid training

Hybrid training means that online participants can additionally attend a classroom course. The dynamics of a real seminar are maintained, and the online participants are able to benefit from that. Online participants of a hybrid course use a collaboration platform, such as WebEx Training Center or Saba Meeting. To do this, a PC with browser and Internet access is required, as well as a headset and ideally a Web cam. In the seminar room, we use specially developed and customized audio- and video-technologies. This makes sure that the communication between all persons involved works in a convenient and fault-free way.
