If you are certifying for the first time or your certification has expired, you must take the standard exam.
If you wish to renew your certification, you can take the abbreviated renewal exam or the standard exam starting 60 days before your certification expires.

- Exam format: 50–60 multiple-choice questions

- Case studies: Each exam includes two case studies. Case studies make up 20–30% of the exam. They also assess your ability to apply your knowledge in a practical business situation. During the exam, you can view the case studies on a split screen. The exam guide lists the four case studies available.

- a. Take the proctored online exam from a remote location.
- b. Take the proctored exam at a test center.

- Recommended experience: At least 3 years of experience in the relevant industry, including at least 1 year of experience designing and managing solutions with Google Cloud.

- Case studies: Each exam includes a case study on solutions based on generative AI. Case studies make up 90 to 100% of the exam. The exam also assesses your ability to solve business challenges with generative AI. During the exam, you can view the case studies on a split screen.
