CCDE Certification

The CCDE certification encompasses mature, multi-vendor network design principles, theory and analysis, and strategic architectural concepts that go beyond the network. The CCDE certification, which is equivalent to the award-winning CCIE(R) certification, provides a distinction for the growing number of network professionals who have in-depth knowledge of infrastructure design and are therefore able to assess business requirements for a network and translate these requirements into effective network designs.

The CCDE certificate consists of a two-part exam: a qualification exam and a practical exam. Qualifying Exam 352-001 is a two-hour multiple-choice test that tests basic knowledge of networking theories, principles, protocols and technologies. The qualification exam is already available at Pearson VUE testing facilities worldwide. The second (practical) exam is an eight-hour hands-on, scenario-based exam. Both the written exam and the practical exam are required for CCDE certification.

In order to achieve this certificate, intensive self-study, further course attendance on special subject areas and participation in a preparation lab are recommended, building on the know-how of the professional (CCDP).
