The availability of IT systems is now more important than ever, which is why administrators are required to be able to assess the stability of their systems. The main concept of chaos engineering is therefore to deliberately destroy a system in order to gather information that will help improve the resilience of the system.
It is an approach for software testing and quality assurance. Chaos engineering is particularly suitable for modern distributed systems and processes. This is because the components of such systems often have complex and unpredictable dependencies. It is often difficult to rectify errors or predict when an error will occur.
Chaos engineering uses controlled experiments to identify vulnerabilities that could lead to direct system failures or hacker-initiated downtime. Random and unpredictable behavior is generated to analyze the system's response to these extreme conditions. Typical problems that can be found in this way include blind spots, i.e. areas that are not sufficiently covered by the monitoring software, hidden bugs or performance bottlenecks.
In this chaos engineering training course, you will learn how to operate Kubernetes-based systems in the most fail-safe way possible using chaos engineering.
-
Course Contents
-
- Basics, concept and goals of chaos engineering for Kubernetes-based solutions
- Typical tools for chaos engineering
- Working with the Chaos Toolkit
- Steady state hypothesis (SSH) in detail
- Aborting microservices and services and injecting other errors using chaos experiments
- Typical effects of the execution of random experiments on the application
- Dealing with the error situation
- Summary and final discussion
The detailed digital documentation package, consisting of an e-book and PDF, is included in the price of the course.
-
Target Group
-
This Chaos Engineering course is aimed at people who work with microservices solutions on Kubernetes platforms and want to make them as fail-safe as possible using Chaos Engineering.
-
Knowledge Prerequisites
-
You should have a technical background and work with Kubernetes and microservices solutions.
-
Classroom training
- Do you prefer the classic training method? A course in one of our Training Centers, with a competent trainer and the direct exchange between all course participants? Then you should book one of our classroom training dates!
-
Hybrid training
- Hybrid training means that online participants can additionally attend a classroom course. The dynamics of a real seminar are maintained, and the online participants are able to benefit from that. Online participants of a hybrid course use a collaboration platform, such as WebEx Training Center or Saba Meeting. To do this, a PC with browser and Internet access is required, as well as a headset and ideally a Web cam. In the seminar room, we use specially developed and customized audio- and video-technologies. This makes sure that the communication between all persons involved works in a convenient and fault-free way.
-
Online training
- You wish to attend a course in online mode? We offer you online course dates for this course topic. To attend these seminars, you need to have a PC with Internet access (minimum data rate 1Mbps), a headset when working via VoIP and optionally a camera. For further information and technical recommendations, please refer to.
-
Tailor-made courses
-
You need a special course for your team? In addition to our standard offer, we will also support you in creating your customized courses, which precisely meet your individual demands. We will be glad to consult you and create an individual offer for you.
