Ansible for Networkers

Ansible is a tool (rather a collection of tools) for configuring, managing and deploying infrastructure. Although the tool was originally developed for the management of Linux hosts, the software now includes a variety of modules and plugins for the management of network components.

This course offers you the opportunity to further develop your Ansible skills (which you acquired, for example, in the course Ansible - Automation of Applications and Infrastructure) to effectively manage network components. In this training, you will gain advanced knowledge of network automation, modules, connection plugins and connection options to make your network device configuration fast, reliable and error-free.

• Ansible Inventory: Connection options for Ansible with network devices

• Typical network configuration: VLANs, VRFs and configuration of routing processes
• Advanced Jinja 2 templates for network configuration
• Handlers and idempotency for network modules and playbooks
• Processing semi-structured data with Ansible and checking the data schema

• Controlling playbook execution: rolling update and sequential configuration of target hosts

The course is aimed at people who already have basic knowledge of Ansible and would like to deepen their knowledge in the area of network configuration and network management.

A basic understanding of Ansible and networking (preferably via both the command line interface and API-based methods) is a prerequisite for successful participation in the course. Knowledge of Linux is desirable but not essential. In addition, participants should have the knowledge that is taught in the course Ansible - Automation of Applications and Infrastructure.
