The field of virtualization has developed considerably in recent years, and one of the leading solutions in the open source environment is Proxmox. Proxmox offers comprehensive options for virtualizing servers and managing containers and virtual machines (VMs). This workshop provides a practical introduction to the basic functions of Proxmox and its architecture. The integration of Proxmox into existing IT infrastructures and the implementation of typical security mechanisms will also be covered in detail.
The workshop provides practical examples of the implementation and operation of Proxmox, which the participants work on together and then try out for themselves.

The workshop is aimed at participants who would like to get an overview of the functions and possibilities of Proxmox and are interested in the technical aspects of implementation and operation.

Knowledge Prerequisites

Basic know-how in the field of virtualization is required. Basic CLI knowledge is helpful, but not a prerequisite.

Classroom training

Hybrid training
- Hybrid training means that online participants can additionally attend a classroom course. The dynamics of a real seminar are maintained, and the online participants are able to benefit from that. Online participants of a hybrid course use a collaboration platform, such as WebEx Training Center or Saba Meeting. To do this, a PC with browser and Internet access is required, as well as a headset and ideally a Web cam. In the seminar room, we use specially developed and customized audio- and video-technologies. This makes sure that the communication between all persons involved works in a convenient and fault-free way.
