Cloud is changing IT architectures and the application world. For organizations new to cloud, many new questions are raised. This course looks at the topic from the perspective of its organizational, personnel, infrastructural, technical and security implications. To this end, the general motivation for cloud is first highlighted and the term itself explained. Issues such as contract law, data protection and compliance must be considered when moving business to the cloud. Likewise, when moving to the cloud, it is almost inevitable that IT processes will change. Agile methods and application modernization come to mind here. Paying attention to various security aspects is also part of successful cloud adoption. How secure is the cloud anyway? And how do you secure it further? A look at threat scenarios as well as security concepts and their technical implementation rounds off this holistic cloud consideration.
